Requirements
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Job Requirements
Education & Certification:
High school diploma or GED.
Current EMT certification (State and/or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - NREMT).
CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent).
Advanced EMT (AEMT) or Paramedic certification is a plus.
Experience:
Prior experience as an EMT in an emergency medical or pre-hospital setting is preferred.
New graduates with required certifications are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, first aid, and trauma care.
Ability to assess patient conditions and determine appropriate medical intervention.
Proficiency in using medical equipment such as defibrillators, oxygen tanks, and stretchers.
Effective communication and teamwork skills for working alongside paramedics, nurses, and first responders.
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in high-stress situations.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Physical fitness to lift patients, move equipment, and work in challenging environments.
Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide on-site medical care.
Assess and stabilize patients in urgent medical situations.
Transport patients safely to medical facilities while monitoring their condition.
Operate and maintain emergency vehicles and medical equipment.
Communicate effectively with hospital personnel, dispatchers, and law enforcement as needed.
Complete accurate and timely patient care reports and documentation.
Adhere to all medical protocols, safety regulations, and ethical standards.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if operating emergency vehicles).
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
