Requirements
EMS Training Specialist – Job Requirements
Education & Certification:
Paramedic or Advanced EMT (AEMT) certification (State and/or NREMT).
Instructor certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, or other EMS-related courses preferred.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Services, Education, or a related field preferred.
Certified EMS Educator or Instructor (e.g., NAEMSE Level 1 or equivalent) is a plus.
CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent) required.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Paramedic, AEMT, or EMT in an emergency or pre-hospital setting.
Prior experience in EMS instruction, training, or education preferred.
Experience developing curriculum, lesson plans, and hands-on training scenarios.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of EMS protocols, medical procedures, and emergency response techniques.
Excellent instructional and presentation skills for both classroom and hands-on training.
Ability to evaluate trainees’ performance and provide constructive feedback.
Proficiency in using training equipment such as simulation mannequins and medical devices.
Strong communication and leadership skills to mentor EMS personnel.
Ability to develop and update training materials based on industry best practices and regulations.
Familiarity with state and national EMS training standards.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver EMS training programs for EMTs, Paramedics, and other emergency responders.
Conduct skills assessments, scenario-based training, and certification courses.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national EMS education requirements.
Maintain accurate training records and report certifications and continuing education hours.
Stay updated on industry trends, new medical advancements, and training technologies.
Collaborate with EMS leadership to improve training effectiveness and operational readiness.
Participate in quality assurance programs to enhance patient care standards.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and evenings.
Willingness to travel for off-site training sessions and EMS conferences.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
